Chester & Snowdon Peak

Hi!

Today, I’m taking you on a remarkable journey through two charming places in England that we combined for an unforgettable weekend. It was truly an adventure, full of challenges and incredible moments. We started with climbing to the summit of Snowdon, which we reached for the third time. This time, we opted for a weekend trip with an overnight stay to give ourselves time to acclimate to the mountain wind.

Our first stop was the city of Chester—a true gem that immediately won our hearts. This place radiates history and charm.

Chester is the only city in England that has preserved its medieval character and architecture. In the city center, you can admire beautiful historic buildings and the stunning Gothic-style cathedral. Inside the cathedral, there’s a lovely garden, a perfect spot for a cup of coffee and a moment of relaxation.

For history enthusiasts, one of the rooms features artifacts from the past that you can admire and even purchase.

Don’t forget to try the local cakes—they’re a true delight for the taste buds. And the best part is that entry to the cathedral is free, although a voluntary donation is always appreciated.

As you stroll through the streets of Chester, it’s impossible to miss the beautiful city walls known as the “Chester City Walls.” These ancient fortifications are impressive and offer a journey back in time. Nearby, you’ll find the famous Victorian Clock, which is not only a tourist attraction but also a significant part of the city’s history.

Chester is one of the most beautiful cities in the United Kingdom, full of energy and joie de vivre. Its historic houses and streets add a unique charm to the city. As you wander through its streets, you might come across talented musicians who brighten the day with their music.

After our visit to Chester, we moved to the picturesque seaside town of Caernarfon. This tranquil place features beautiful castle walls and a charming market square where you can find restaurants and cafes.

Caernarfon comes alive in the evenings, offering pleasant seaside walks and the ambiance of this delightful town. Our hotel was stylish and wonderfully equipped, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay.

The next day, early in the morning, we set off to conquer Mount Snowdon.

This was my third attempt due to a fear of heights that hindered me before. We started our climb at 7:42 am, equipped with appropriate footwear and provisions. Despite a light rain at the beginning, the views were amazing.

No photos can capture the beauty of the landscape and the fresh air.

The higher we climbed, the tougher it became, but the pride in overcoming our own limits gave us strength. The weather was merciless, with rain and strong winds, yet reaching the summit filled us with immense satisfaction. The view at 1,085 meters above sea level was a reward well worth the effort. At the top, there’s a center where you can rest, eat your provisions, and enjoy a warm cup of tea. Another unforgettable moment was making a wish at the summit, which coincided with the upcoming birthday

Descending

At the top, we had the chance to once again admire the beautiful views and charming sheep. This weekend, spent conquering the summit of Snowdon, exploring Chester, and discovering Caernarfon, showed us that we can overcome any challenges. The feeling of fulfillment and confidence is priceless. If you have a dream, pursue it—because while the journey may be challenging, the views at the destination are amazing. It is these moments that remain in our memories forever and add color to our lives.
