We continue our exciting journey through charming England, and today I’m taking you on a unique experience – glamping. It’s something entirely different from regular camping, and for me personally, it was a first-time experience. Although I love camping with my own tent and all the gear, sometimes it’s worth daring to try something new.
Our glamping adventure was a true paradise amidst the forest, where silence prevailed. However, what surprised us even more was the complete lack of phone signal. It was a real escape from the digital world. We were surrounded by horses and other wild animals, and in the morning, we woke up with a beautiful view of the sky – something truly amazing.
Of course, we didn’t miss out on active days. Our stay lasted for 3 days, and on the fourth day, we moved to another charming location. But let’s start with the first day when we visited the charming town of Crewkerne.
Crewkerne turned out to be a hidden gem in Somerset County. Its charm lay in beautiful old buildings and the peaceful everyday life. Walking its streets made us feel like we had traveled back in time. The carefully preserved houses delighted us with their historical character.
Then we hopped on our bikes and headed towards Bridport.
Bridport it a Characterful Town a place of extraordinary charm. Its market was filled with stalls offering local craftsmanship, and the streets were bustling with life. It’s the perfect place for a moment of relaxation with a cup of coffee or delicious food. But our journey didn’t end there.
Bridport – This place took our breath away. A beautiful beach and crystal-clear waters invited us for a refreshing swim. We also climbed one of the nearby hills, from which we had a magnificent view of the town. This place exuded tranquility and harmony.
As we strolled along the waterfront, we spotted tourists and locals catching crabs or trying their hand at fishing. An exciting highlight was a thrilling speedboat ride that gave us a truly exhilarating experience.
You could also opt for a peaceful trip around the cliffs, admiring the extraordinary beauty of the coastline. There were also souvenir shops and fresh seafood stalls by the sea.
Seatown -A Nearby Seaside Gem. Just a stone’s throw away from the charming town of West Bay Dorset, you’ll find another picturesque seaside town – Seatown. This place is renowned for its stunning cliffs, charming beaches, and quaint hillside cafés. Here, too, there were plenty of opportunities to detach from everyday life and immerse yourself in nature.
On the second day, after a beautiful morning in the midst of nature, where the rustling of trees created a harmonious symphony of sounds, we got into the car and headed towards the next destination.
Cheddar – Perfect Place for a Full-Day Excursion. If you’re looking for the perfect spot for a full-day excursion, Cheddar in England is just what you need. This picturesque town is home to many attractions that will provide you with unforgettable experiences throughout the day.
Jacob’s Ladder – Cliffside Hike with Breathtaking Views. To start your day, embark on a hike to Jacob’s Ladder, where you’ll embark on an exhilarating journey along the cliffs. The views there are absolutely enchanting, and the trail offers unforgettable impressions. If you’re not afraid of heights, visit the nearby tower, where a wonderful panorama of the surrounding ponds unfolds.
Cheddar Gorge and Caves – A Treasury of Knowledge. Next, head to Cheddar Gorge and Caves, a true treasure trove of geological and historical knowledge. These wonderful caves hide many secrets and fascinating rock formations. This place will not only provide you with knowledge but also unforgettable experiences as you journey underground.
During your journey to the town of Cheddar, you’ll want to stop frequently to capture these impressive Cliffs in photos. Their height and charm make them incredibly beautiful and an integral part of the region’s landscape.
As you wander through the town of Cheddar, you’ll feel the harmony of the greenery and the charm of this picturesque place. You can admire the old stone houses, take a break by the riverbank, and soak in the atmospheric ambiance.

Somerset a colorful town with a garden and Castle. To end the day, we decided to visit the charming town of Well in Somerset County. This place delights with its abundance of beautiful colors, flowers, and cheerful people. It’s worth visiting the large garden with a stunning castle, where you can relax in the peaceful natural surroundings.
Cheddar and the surrounding towns offer unforgettable experiences, stunning views, and plenty of charm. It’s the perfect place for an excursion that will leave you with beautiful memories.
When thinking of charming seaside towns, Appeldore should definitely be on that list. This picturesque town, situated along the coast, captivates not only with its natural beauty but also with a wealth of activities for active leisure enthusiasts. One of the key reasons to visit Appeldore is its fantastic cycling route.
Appeldore is a paradise for cycling enthusiasts. The town offers well-marked and well-maintained bike paths that lead through scenic landscapes, along the coastline, and through the charming town itself. If you decide to take a walk to the beach from the town, be prepared for a longer stroll, but it’s definitely worth the effort. The path leads through picturesque landscapes, allowing you to savor the beauty of nature and the wild scenery. It’s an excellent opportunity to admire the diversity of flora and fauna in this region.
Clavelly Village, nestled on a picturesque hill, is a place that’s hard to put into words – it’s simply incredible. It’s a charming estate where nature and architecture seamlessly blend, offering visitors unforgettable experiences.

The Descent -worth the effort. If you decide to make the journey downhill, you’re in for a unique adventure. The path, though picturesque, is exceptionally steep and demanding. But believe me, it’s worth it! The views that await you are priceless. After descending the steps, you’ll be greeted by a stunning body of water, accompanied by charming restaurants and boutiques.
At the foot of the hill, a beautiful beach awaits you. Soft sand, crystal-clear water, and the sound of waves create a heavenly atmosphere. Restaurants serving local delicacies tempt with aromatic aromas, and shops offer unique souvenirs. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind. 
Clavelly Village is also home to an impressive Waterfall. Its size depends on the rainfall, so it’s always a pleasant surprise. The sound of the water and glistening droplets give this place a magical charm. It’s a wonderful spot for contemplation and connecting with nature.
At the bottom, you have the opportunity to rent a boat and cruise on the nearby waters. You can also take a plunge into the water or simply bask in the sun on the beach. It’s a place full of entertainment for all ages.
Every month, Clavelly Village hosts various special events. It’s the perfect opportunity to experience the local culture and traditions while enjoying the company of friendly locals.
The return journey uphill can be a bit more challenging, especially on hot days. Good fitness and a bottle of water will certainly come in handy. We recommend avoiding high heels or flip-flops – comfortable, flat shoes are a better choice. But the effort is well worth these breathtaking views.
