Hi!
After our wonderful hike in the mountains and exploring the charming city of Chester, we decided to conquer another peak—Scafell Pike, the highest point in England, standing at 978 meters. We carefully prepared for the entire weekend, packed our things, and headed to Blackpool.
Upon arrival and checking into a lovely guesthouse, we were excited to explore the town. However, the first impression wasn’t very impressive—the town seemed neglected, somewhat reminiscent of other seaside resorts we had visited before, like Southend-on-Sea in Essex.
We spent half of Friday walking along the seaside promenade, exploring the pier, and discovering the city’s attractions. Our plan was to climb the mountain on Saturday, but unfortunately, we forgot to pack the most important item—our hiking boots. So, we had to quickly change our plans and decided to spend Saturday actively in Blackpool instead.
The next stop on our list was the wax figures at Madame Tussauds. I have to admit, it was a completely different experience than in London, but just as fantastic. The memories of our visit to Madame Tussauds in Blackpool will definitely stay with us for a long time.
The most exciting part was our experience at The Blackpool Tower, where we enjoyed a fantastic 4D cinema, complete with additional effects like 3D visuals, rain, a shaking floor, and immersive sounds. Everything was so well done that I felt like I was really there—it was phenomenal.
At the very top, there is a glass floor that leaves a lasting impression, and the view is truly breathtaking. You can also step out onto two more levels above.
We ended the day with something unexpected—a circus and acrobatic show. Here too, recording or taking photos was not allowed (although I managed to capture a small snippet). After leaving the venue, we were left with a positive impression, as the entire show took place in a beautiful ballet hall. Truly, two hours of a stunning and incredible show—it’s amazing what people can do and how precisely they move, as there’s no room for error in some situations. I would highly recommend that if you’re in Blackpool, make sure to visit the circus at the end of the day; it will relax you and provide a true “wow” experience.
The next day, as planned, we set off fully equipped, ready to conquer the highest peak in England—Scafell Pike. Our expedition promised to be an extraordinary challenge, as well as a perfect opportunity to experience the beauty and magic of the mountain world.
The road to the summit was not as gentle as we had expected. Winding serpentine paths, steep inclines, and descents made the journey a real test for our vehicle. However, with our 4×4, we had an advantage. It wasn’t the first time our sturdy machine had proven to be our savior in challenging conditions.
One of the difficulties we faced was the lack of proper hiking boots (we had simply forgotten them). Therefore, during the hike, we had to be extremely cautious to avoid injury. From the start of the trail, we experienced how challenging mountain climbing can be. The initial path was difficult but relatively gentle, yet the higher we climbed, the steeper and more demanding the ascents became. The temperature dropped as we ascended, and the wind grew increasingly biting. However, the breathtaking views around us made up for any discomfort. The feeling of standing at the summit and gazing at the beautiful world stretching out below is indescribable.
Our challenging climb took us three hours. It was tough but rewarding, especially for a relatively low peak. It turns out that choosing the right footwear is crucial for such hikes.
When we reached the summit, the sun greeted us with a broad smile in the sky. It was undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and satisfying experiences of our lives. At the top of Scafell Pike, we simply forgot about the hardships of the climb, as the views were truly worth the effort.
Nevertheless, our Wyprawa miała swoje niespodzianki. Podczas schodzenia pogoda znacznie się pogorszyła. Deszcz i mgła towarzyszyły nam w ostatnich metrach naszej podróży, ale byliśmy naprawdę wdzięczni za to, że osiągnęliśmy nasz cel.
The journey to Scafell Pike was not only an incredible experience but also a reminder that life is full of challenges to overcome. It was one of the three peaks we plan to conquer, and now, after this first success, we eagerly await our next adventures.
The next stage of our mountain journey will be to tackle the highest peak in Scotland. It promises to be an extraordinary experience. Although we plan to do this next year, we are already starting to prepare and gather information about the conditions there. The knowledge that snow might fall during the hike adds extra excitement and motivation to reach that summit.
See you!
