Why am I Keto??

I have never thought about how food affects each of us, our mood, body, and even our attitude towards eating.

Everyone is on a diet because the way we eat is a diet, whether it is prescribed by a dietitian and followed with discipline, or if we are just casual bread eaters – everyone has a diet.

I have been and still am slim my whole life. I have always had a 5kg underweight and despite trying everything, the results went the opposite way. I stopped fighting it and started being content and happy that I can eat anything, compared to people who have to follow their dietitian’s guidelines.

What prompted me to follow such a demanding diet like Keto?

Health!! The idea that in a few years, I will still be in great physical and mental shape. Improved well-being, increased focus, a clear and fresh mind, determination and discipline, as well as listening to my body and living in harmony with myself. These are just some of the benefits I have achieved, and there are really a lot of them.

Success = Hard Work

However, starting from the beginning.I have struggled with allergies my whole life, and at a certain point, I felt like they were getting worse every year. Three years ago, when there was a strange illness spreading worldwide, I started searching online for ways to help myself, fight back, and maybe even find a cure for my allergies. My search led me to some strange cleansing methods that I tried, and to this day, I’m not sure if they helped me – well, it’s worth trying everything. But I didn’t give up; I kept searching deeper until I came across a YouTube channel that opened my eyes to the way I was eating. I did some analysis and decided to eliminate sugar in all forms, grains, which meant bread, pasta, rice, and even potatoes, breading for schnitzels, and so on. As a result, it turned out that I was on a low-carb diet. Everything would have been great if it weren’t for the fact that the fruits I was consuming also contained sugar in the form of fructose, and our bodies still perceive it as sugar. Consequently, I started following the Keto diet.

The beginnings were very difficult; I had no idea what to combine with what, and I had to teach my body to use a different source of energy. I didn’t notice many of the positive effects of the keto diet for a long time, until one day I realized that, finally, after 29 years, I woke up well-rested. My skin changed to a slightly tan color, and for a while, I haven’t been getting bruises from gentle impacts. I started pondering the situation from 2-3 years ago and realized that the energy crashes I used to experience have also disappeared. I introduced physical activity and began to learn how to truly listen to my body and what it really wants.

The effect after three years, where the biggest changes occurred last year, is incredibly wonderful for me. All the ailments I had simply disappeared. Today, I feel amazing, and the state I’m in is indescribable. The process I had to go through to get to where I am now has taught me many lessons and discipline, showing me that I must never give up.

The most important thing is that my allergy didn’t disappear completely, but it improved by 50%, which is a significant success for me.

What does Keto give me?

Freedom, health, joy from every simple meal, a healthy and beautiful body, harmony of mind, a clear conscience.

In hindsight, I believe it was the best decision. Investing in myself and my health is a beautiful future that awaits me at every stage of life. Despite the sacrifices and the initial difficulties, it’s worth it! I thank myself for it every day.
