During our two-week trip to Spain, Zarautz proudly held the second spot on our list. This charming coastal town in the Basque Country made a lasting impression on us in every way. Regardless of what you’re looking for during your travels, Zarautz has everything you could desire.

In Zarautz, we also encountered exceptionally friendly people. Their hospitality and smiles made us feel right at home. The local community was very helpful and eager to share their favorite spots and interesting facts about the town.
We can’t forget the delicious croissants, which are a hallmark of Zarautz. These homemade treats are absolutely delightful and definitely worth trying during your stay in this charming town.
The architecture of Zarautz also captivated us. The streets are filled with charming buildings showcasing a distinctive style. As we wandered through the narrow alleys, we could admire the beautiful architectural details and experience the unique atmosphere of the town.
Zarautz, one of the most picturesque towns in the Basque Country, is also close to San Sebastián. This beautiful city, known as Donostia in Basque, attracts visitors from around the world with its culture, architecture, and unique atmosphere.
San Sebastián is famous for its stunning beaches, such as Playa de la Concha and Playa de Ondarreta, where you can stroll, sunbathe, or enjoy water sports. The city is also renowned for its excellent cuisine, especially Pintxos—traditional Basque tapas that you can savor in numerous bars and restaurants.
Additionally, San Sebastián is the host of prestigious film festivals, such as the San Sebastián International Film Festival. During these events, the city comes alive even more, attracting celebrities and film enthusiasts from around the world.
In the evening, San Sebastián offers numerous attractions, such as strolls through the charming streets of the Old Town, known as Parte Vieja, where you can find many traditional bars and taverns. There, you can savor exquisite local cuisine and experience the vibrant nightlife of the city.
